People ask about the difference between forgiveness and justice, especially in the context of sexual assault. When one forgives, is there any need to ask for justice? People usually say to survivors, “Why don’t you just forgive and let’s move on?” We tell the survivors, “Well if you can’t forgive now, perhaps after counselling and […]

In these times, we need to revisit the story of Tamar over and over again. Tamar was David’s daughter who was sexually violated by her brother, Amnon, one of David’s sons who then casts her out. Tamar’s brother Absalom then finds out about what Amnon has done and he gives her advice based on his […]

In recent times, there’s been a push concerning women proving their worth in society and showing that they themselves are just as capable and intelligent as men. There’s a lot going on about women proving themselves in the workplace in comparison to their male counterparts. Women are being celebrated and empowered and they are succeeding […]

Many people come to church. They sing, they clap, they dance, they look good on the outside, they say the right things, they go through the motions of Christianity, but beneath the externals, they are bleeding internally. They need attention and healing; inside is pain, hurt, guilt, and anger. Even pastors, elders and deacons are […]

It is morally reprehensible to dismiss the crimes of pastors and church leaders. It is an abuse of faith to attempt to silence critics and denounce people who challenge the church to be accountable as unfaithful, or lacking obedience to the word of God. To believe that church leaders are infallible is a disgusting handicap […]

One issue we have in Nigeria is that most Nigerians visualise corruption just in terms of theft of money. Generally speaking, corruption is a form of dishonesty or criminal activity undertaken by people entrusted with positions of authority. These forms of dishonesty include but are not limited to bribery, embezzlement, misconduct and theft. Security corruption […]

Gentlemen of the Press – My wife and I have called this press conference because, as a man, I have done what I am supposed to do – I stood by my wife when she decided to go public with her truth. It was not an easy decision but I was raised by my Grandmother […]

VISIT OF SOLIDARITY TO COMMONWEALTH ZION ASSEMBLY ( COZA): CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION ASSOCIATION KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT IT The attention of the President of CAN, Rev. Dr. Samson O. A. Ayokunle has been called to a report and a video clip going round that Christian Association of Nigeria has sent her officials to Commonwealth of Zion Assembly(COZA) […]

We are therefore confused about CAN’s position on this matter. From saying COZA is not a member; to saying that the allegations must be investigated and then a public declaration of support.

Following rape allegations brought against Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) minister, Biodun Fatoyinbo, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has made a decision to investigate all claims against the pastor. This is the first time in the history of the body that this has been done. In a letter sent to Timi Dakolo last week, the […]

After 4 years of serving within the church, she’d come to share the near rabid adoration COZA members have for Fatoyinbo.

Pastor Tony Rapu of The House of Freedom says “the scriptures reveal the mind of God on this issue.”

I have been asked by many well meaning people about my position concerning the accusation of rape made against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.

We are a group of well-meaning, concerned Nigerians, under the umbrella of the #ChurchToo Movement, advocating for and speaking against all forms of human rights violations, especially sexual abuse, that have become prevalent in the church today.

The burden I woke up with after I hardly slept through the the night. My eyes fell on this book lying across the room which I had hardly read. Broused for answers I already knew and I knew this is what I wanted to say today.

Only a few people ever find the courage to break out of the PRISON of silence & to speak up about a hurt, a pain, a shame or a fear that has kept them silent for many years.

It is heart breaking to read and watch the various stories of rape and sexual misconduct that have permeated the Nigerian media in the last 48 hours.
